Day 9 - Thursday
Today, the campers and their pups took an exciting road trip to Marina Park in Titusville for a kayaking adventure.
Before heading out on the water, the group reviewed important safety procedures, discussed what to expect on the water, and learned how to safely kayak with their dogs.
Preparing for an adventure begins long before launching a kayak. The campers learned that planning, communication, and safety are essential for creating positive experiences for both people and dogs.

With everyone ready, the campers loaded into their kayaks and paddled across the water to Horseshoe Crab Island.
The journey itself became part of the adventure as both campers and dogs experienced the sights, sounds, and movement of the open water together.
For many of the dogs, this was a unique enrichment opportunity that encouraged confidence, exploration, and trust while sharing a memorable experience alongside their young handlers.

Once on Horseshoe Crab Island, the campers explored the unique coastal habitat while learning about the local ecosystem and the wildlife that depends on it.
As they explored, they were encouraged to leave the area better than they found it by picking up litter and respecting the natural environment.
The experience reinforced the importance of environmental stewardship and reminded the campers that caring for animals also means caring for the habitats they call home.

After exploring the island, it was time to relax and enjoy the water.
The campers and their pups had the opportunity to splash, swim, and simply enjoy the experience together.
These moments of play are an important part of enrichment, allowing both dogs and people to unwind, build positive associations, and create lasting memories through shared adventures.

As the day came to a close, the campers and their pups climbed back into their kayaks for the paddle to the mainland.
The return trip gave everyone a chance to reflect on a day filled with adventure, learning, teamwork, and exploration.

From practicing water safety to experiencing a unique coastal ecosystem, the trip combined education, enrichment, and outdoor adventure into an unforgettable experience for both the campers and their canine partners.
