Session 2 - Day 9 (Thursday)
On Thursday, the campers and their dogs had a very exciting excursion!
They began the morning cleaning their dogs' crates. Then, it was time for a quick session of the bed exercise. This went incredibly smoothly, so after that, the campers took their dogs outside for a walk and to potty. They worked on progressing their loose leash walking with their dogs.
Once back in the barn there was a little time to sit and talk before it was time to go, so the campers got to ask the counselors some questions. When everything was set to go, the campers got their stuff and their dogs and headed to the buses.
It was time to go to Canova dog beach!!
While their dogs napped, the campers played games on the long bus ride to the beach.
When we arrived at the beach, the campers set up their things and then walked down to introduce their dogs to the water. They spent the day walking and running and playing with their dogs.
They spent the day walking and running and playing with their dogs. The dogs got to experience the sand, the waves, the wind, and all the new sensations the beach has to offer
After a while at the beach it was time to head back to Doglando. When we got back, the campers quickly took their dogs out to potty before putting them in their crates to rest. Then they changed and came into the front barn to discuss dinner and the sleepover in the barn. Once everything was explained, the campers enjoyed a fun ice pop treat after a long day in the sun.
Then, the campers had some relaxation and game time. They sat on their beds in a circle to play a game together and talk.
After a short while, it was time to clean up the barn and the buses, and start preparing for camp graduation. The campers helped put away tables, set up chairs, move the dogs' crates, wipe down windows, and blow out and mop the buses.
Once that was finished, someone had arrived to have a Meet and Greet with a few of the dogs. She was able to meet two that didn’t have an application so far, and one more that she was still interested it. The campers were able to ask questions and tell a little bit about their dogs.
Once the Meet and Greets were over, the campers packed up and got ready to go home.
They will return to the barn later this evening for a fun sleepover!
