Day 1 - Monday
We started the day with a huddle to give introductions, did a few icebreakers, and shared our goals.
Next, we toured the Doglando campus and discussed the 8 Spheres of Enrichment while observing the Doglando dogs in real time.
Then it was time for the campers to meet the rescue dogs that will be participating in camp this session.
They learned how to allow the dogs to receive information about strangers in a way that builds curiosity from the dog...
Campers sat with their backs against each of the crates, so every dog could learn their scent.
Next, our Camp Director, Rachael, taught the campers how to properly hold a leash and went over how to safely handle a dog during walks.
After engaging with each of the dogs, everyone chose their camp dog for the next two weeks.
To finish an exciting first day, the campers learned how to teach their pups proper crate etiquette.
We can't wait to share more Camp Doglando adventures with you tomorrow!
